LAHORE: An alleged agreement between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf-Nazriati (PTI-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has surfaced.
According to the alleged agreement, there is a ‘conspiracy’ to postpone the general election scheduled for February 8. The two parties agreed to repel the conspiracy together.
“PTI-N will unconditionally support the PTI”, the alleged agreement read. “The two parties will contest the elections jointly, and seven PTI candidates would receive tickets under PTI-N banner”.
The PTI-N chairman outright rejected this claim, accusing the PTI of submitting fake tickers under his party’s name.
Akhtar Iqbal reached an agreement with us: PTI
Meanwhile, PTI’s Secretary Information Raoof Hasan in a press conference confirmed the agreement claiming that Akhtar Iqbal himself signed the agreement.
“An agreement was reached with the PTI-N chairman two weeks ago”, Raoof Hasan said.
Hasan explained that the agreement was prompted by the pending Supreme Court (SC) decision on PTI’s symbol, with time constraints looming for ticket collection for PTI candidates. Consequently, the two parties opted to enter into an agreement.
“Our plan B and C was to seek an alliance with other political parties and support independent candidates”, added the PTI leader.
PTI’s Secretary Information further said, “We have good relations with Akhtar Iqbal. The PTI-N chief only demanded four seats from Sheikhupura, which we granted/gave”.
