DUBAI: The ICC T20 World Cup in 2024, slated for June 1 to June 29, is set to make history as the largest ever, featuring 55 matches across nine cities, including three in the USA and six in the Caribbean. A significant milestone awaits the USA, hosting its inaugural Men’s T20 World Cup, with New York and Florida chosen as event venues.
In a bid to ensure an equitable distribution of tickets, the ICC has implemented a public ticket ballot system, providing all applicants within the seven-day window an equal chance of securing tickets.
Fans can apply for up to six tickets per match and any number of matches during the ballot period until 23:59 Antigua Standard Time on February 7, 2024.
Chris Tetley, ICC Head of Events, expressed enthusiasm for the ticket launch, stating, “The ticket ballot process will give all fans worldwide an equal opportunity to secure tickets.”
Tickets, ranging from $6 to $25, have been reasonably priced to cater to a diverse fan base. Any remaining tickets post-ballot will be available for general sale starting February 22 at tickets.t20worldcup.com.
Successful applicants will receive email notifications about their secured matches and payment links. Unpaid tickets will be released for general sale on a first-come, first-served basis.
The confirmed starting times for all matches, with adjustments for travel time to the final, have been released.
Cricket West Indies Chief Executive Johnny Grave and Chair of T20 World Cup USA, Inc. Peter Hutton expressed enthusiasm for the ticketing process. Grave emphasized fairness and inclusivity, while Hutton highlighted the historic significance of hosting the event in the USA, anticipating cricket’s inclusion in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
Hutton stated, “Hosting this event in the US is a watershed moment for cricket in this country.
