While most international cricket teams have already revealed their 15-member squads along with reserves for the upcoming ninth edition of the T20 World Cup set to occur in the United States and the West Indies from June 1 to 29, 2024, Pakistan is yet to announce its squad for the mega tournament. The event will feature a total of 20 teams, including those participating in the qualifying round.
India, England, Australia, New Zealand, Oman, South Africa, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal have all unveiled their fifteen-member squads for the upcoming cricket events. However, Pakistan is yet to reveal its squad for the World Cup.
The Pakistan National Selection Committee, however, today announced the squad for the Ireland and England tour, with selectors Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Yousuf, Abdul Razzaq, and Bilal Afzal making the announcement during a press conference held in Lahore.
The Ireland and England series squad comprises 18 members, with the selection for the 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup scheduled to follow after the first T20 against England.
Babar Azam continues to lead the team, with Muhammad Rizwan and Azam Khan making a return after recovering from injuries. Fast bowler Haris Rauf also rejoins the team.
The squad also features Iftikhar Ahmed, Abrar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Naseem Shah, and Muhammad Amir. Other notable players include Hassan Ali, Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub, and Shadab Khan.
Excluded from the squad this time are Usama Mir and Zaman Khan.
