ISLAMABAD: The Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), in association with The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), proudly announces a landmark celebration commemorating a USD 4 billion export achievement milestone. The event titled “FOUR – The Quadra Legacy” was held at the historic Mohatta Palace, marking the first time a sustainability-focused event of this magnitude took place at this iconic venue.
The celebration honored the achievement of USD 4 billion in rice exports by REAP, showcasing the remarkable success of Pakistan’s rice export industry. The event also paid homage to the rich heritage and symbolism of the number 4 in Islamic architecture, with Mohatta Palace as the backdrop. Emphasizing eco-conscious practices, the event featured zero waste initiatives, utilizing recyclable and compostable materials, renewable energy sources, and informative displays on sustainability. It symbolically represented the immersive experience of ‘chaar bagh’ (four gardens), intertwining the four elements of nature: earth, air, water, and fire. The event also featured an exclusive performance by the legendary Shafqat Amanat Ali, along with Khumariyaan and Lenny Massey an opening act designed to engage all senses and celebrate Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.
The Quadra Legacy was curated to be a luxury cultural entertainment program hosted by REAP in partnership with TDAP. The celebration aimed to entertain international guests and commemorate collective achievements in the rice export industry. It served as a precursor to the Food and Agriculture Export Trade Show, held from the 9th to the 11th of August at the Expo Centre, featuring participation from international industries and companies.
Mr Chela Ram Kewlani, Chairman – Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), shared his thoughts, “Our journey to achieving USD 4 billion in rice exports is a story of perseverance and vision. This event is the perfect venue to celebrate our success and our commitment to sustainability. We are proud to be part of an industry that not only contributes to the economy but also honors our cultural heritage. We also look forward to pushing the USD 4 Billion achievement to USD 6 Billion in the coming months”
Mr Ali Hussam Asghar, Chairman, Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), added, “This milestone is a result of the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in the rice export industry. ‘FOUR – The Quadra Legacy’ is a celebration of our achievements and a reflection of our continuous efforts towards sustainable practices. We are excited to share this moment with our international guests.”
The event celebrated partnerships focused on recycling, reusing through donations, and tree plantations, collaborating with local organizations such as the Paani, Trash-it, and Good Karma. These partnerships supported and enhanced the sustainable ethos of the event. In addition, The Quadra Legacy event management, along with REAP have pledged to support the Mangrove plantation project to balance the carbon footprint of the event.
The IPG GROUP PAKISTAN team in partnership with KEARO DESIGN STUDIO put this event together with a mindful approach. The event curation team elaborated, “The sustainable focus of this event is an initiative taken with the intent of right by our environment! By organizing a minimal-waste event and emphasizing eco-conscious practices, we are hoping to set a new standard for future events. ‘FOUR – The Quadra Legacy’ is not just a celebration of economic success but also a commitment to a sustainable future from the design/management team and RICE EXPORTERS ASSOCIATION OF PAKISTAN.”
