PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has emphasized the significance of the All Parties Conference (APC) held to address critical issues surrounding the province’s law and order and its political rights.

Speaking at a press conference following the meeting at the Governor House in Peshawar, Kundi outlined plans to establish two separate committees — one political and one technical — to engage with all relevant stakeholders on these matters.

Kundi stated that the APC, which he described as “crucial,” was initially expected to be convened by the provincial government. However, in the absence of such an initiative, he insisted that action could not be delayed any longer.

“Sixteen political parties participated in today’s conference, and I express my gratitude to them,” Kundi remarked, adding that despite an invitation extended to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the party declined to attend.

The Governor underscored the importance of creating a unified action plan for maintaining peace and managing the province’s resources, calling for a performance audit of the provincial government.

He also criticized the current leadership, specifically calling out Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister for failing to attend the APC and accusing him of inflaming unrest in the region.

“Our province is burning, and instead of addressing the crisis, they aim to spread further turmoil in Islamabad,” Kundi said, alluding to the Chief Minister’s actions.

In his address, Kundi expressed frustration with the provincial government’s handling of the situation, particularly pointing to remarks made by PTI member Ali Amin Gandapur in the provincial assembly, which he likened to a film scene.

Despite the absence of the Chief Minister, the APC proceeded, with Kundi reaffirming the intention to share any resolutions or announcements made at the conference with the provincial government.

This, he said, would enable them to present the proposals in the assembly and facilitate the implementation of concrete steps for the betterment of the province.
