Art Dubai is back from April 18 to 20, 2025, and it’s shaping up to be more exciting than ever. Hosted at the picturesque Madinat Jumeirah, this global art fair is known for bringing together galleries from all over the world—from rising voices to modern masters. What’s in it for Pakistani art lovers? A lot, actually.

This year, Pakistan is showing up in full creative force, with nine incredible artists featured in the Contemporary section of the fair.

If you’re in Dubai—or thinking of making a trip—it’s the perfect excuse to soak up some culture, celebrate our roots, and explore the global stage where Pakistani art is making waves.

Art Dubai has always been a cultural magnet, attracting curators, collectors, artists, and thinkers from over 90 countries. It’s where modern and traditional art intersect, where ideas cross borders, and where communities come together through creativity.

And in 2025, it also becomes a space where Pakistan’s voice in the global art conversation is loud, clear, and deeply rooted in heritage.

Among the names representing Pakistan is Rasheed Araeen, one of the earliest voices of minimalist sculpture, whose works reflect structure and modularity with a strong political edge.

Anwar Saeed explores identity and mythology through haunting figuration, while Faiza Butt brings pointillism to life with miniature-inspired precision and social commentary.

Imran Qureshi, famous for blending Mughal miniature techniques with contemporary themes, continues to redefine what tradition can look like today.

Also featured is Sana Arjumand, whose work brings together mysticism, birds, and light in ways that feel deeply introspective and poetic.

Safdar Ali Qureshi works in layers—his abstract, monochrome pieces are about memory and lived experience. From textiles to storytelling, Shehnaz Ismail brings her decades of research into indigenous crafts to the global platform.

Maha Ahmed, another miniature-trained artist, reimagines fantasy worlds with a delicate yet bold touch. And of course, there’s a tribute to the legendary Sadequain, whose calligraphy and symbolic art have long been woven into Pakistan’s visual identity.

Whether you’re an art fan or just someone who loves connecting with culture, Art Dubai offers a whole vibe. From its Bawwaba section—meaning “gateway” in Arabic—featuring solo exhibitions from across the Global South, to Art Dubai Digital, where NFTs and virtual reality get a creative twist, there’s something for everyone.

Expect gallery walks, open talks, and a creative buzz that stretches well beyond the walls of the fair.

For Pakistanis, the experience offers more than just a chance to view impressive art—it’s a moment to connect with our region’s evolving story. Our artists aren’t just showing work; they’re offering powerful, personal narratives that reflect the complexity, resilience, and imagination of Pakistan. Each brushstroke, motif, or installation carries a bit of home, reframed on a global canvas.

And this isn’t just about art—it’s about impact. Events like Art Dubai help strengthen cultural ties between Pakistan and the UAE, encouraging dialogue, collaboration, and tourism.

For Pakistani travelers and diaspora living in the UAE, it’s an opportunity to celebrate talent from back home, introduce friends to our creative legacy, and support our artists on an international platform. Plus, for the Pakistani art economy, increased visibility can lead to commissions, exhibitions, and investment—opening up new doors for local artists and galleries.
