Senator Taj Haider of the People’s Party conveyed to the Senate on Tuesday the party’s stance of returning any contested seat if proven to be acquired through electoral malpractice.
“If provided with Form 45, we are ready to surrender any seat found to have been obtained through election rigging,” Senator Taj Haider stated during the session.
He emphasized the party’s commitment to supporting individuals whose rights have been infringed upon, urging political entities to pursue legal avenues rather than resorting to disorder. “We seek solutions to issues,” he asserted.
Regarding discussions with the PML-N, he clarified that the People’s Party did not request ministerial positions but rather sought various development projects.
During the Senate debate, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed advocated for a general amnesty for political detainees, including the founder of the PTI, and emphasized the need for the recovery of missing persons in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He acknowledged the PTI’s significant electoral success, advising Nawaz Sharif to exhibit leadership and statesmanship during this critical juncture.
